Maybe...

Leaving BWI now (late). There is a slim chance we make our China flight of we run like hell.

Curse of the Old Bay

So the plot thickens. While Baltimore TSA was hell bent on making sure our small can of Old Bay was nothing nefarious, Toronto TSA was asleep at the wheel. Our flight out of BWI is totally delayed by a security breach in Toronto. Looks like we will miss our flight to China. Sucks.

I put Old Bay on my Old Bay...

TSA didn't like my joke. We packed copious food snacks for the long flight, and once in country for the kids. First i recall security line made us take all food out of our bags. Well that was a real sh$% show! And we also brought many gifts as suggested to give out to our China friends along the way. Annnddd we forgot to take some out of a bag, which resulted in the full inspection off line. Then she found the Old Bay can. You would have thought it was defcon 5. They wanted to test the contents, which was foil sealed. Supervisor ran swab tests and litmus tests and a dropper thingy. We passed! Someone in China is gonna love their Old Bay.

Off we go...

Tomorrow we head to Beijing, China. Almost 11 years ago we were doing the same, to bring back Aidan. Arrived in China August 8, 2008 - the same night as their Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony. The country was glued to huge outdoor TVs as we made our way to our hotel in Guangzhou late at night. Because of the olympics, we missed Beijing and all it's sights. This time we ARE flying into Beijing, going on a China Homeland Tour with many other adoptive families. Aidan will get back to his birth country to take it all in. And it all started like this:
